Faces Behind OTIS…
Katherine L. Wisner, M.D., M.S. was recently named one of the “best physicians of the year” by Medscape. The honor follows a big year for Dr. Wisner, who was also selected as the recipient of the 2011 AMWA's Women in Science Award. The award is presented to a female physician who has made exceptional contributions to medical science, particularly in women's health.
Dr. Wisner is the director of the Women’s Behavioral HealthCARE at the University of Pittsburgh’s School Of Medicine in the department of psychiatry. She is also a professor of psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, and reproductive sciences. In addition, Dr. Wisner holds a position as investigator for the Magee Women’s Research Institute and holds secondary appointments in epidemiology and women’s studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
She has been a member of OTIS since 2005, and also served on the Board of Directors and Research Committee from 2006-2008.
