SURVEY SEEKS OPINIONS ON MEDICATION USE IN PREGNANCY; OFFERS $500 PRIZE TO PARTICIPANTS

OSLO, Norway - Researchers have launched a worldwide survey that aims to provide more insight into women's views about medication use in pregnancy. The Social Pharmacy research Group at the School of Pharmacy, University of Oslo, is spearheading the effort and looking for women and health care providers to take part. Those who participate are also offered the chance to win a $500 gift card.

"We hope the results of this survey will help us in gaining more knowledge about medication use patterns in pregnancy, beliefs and attitudes towards medications as well as risk perception during pregnancy and after childbirth" says Dr. Hedvig Nordeng, a lead researcher within the Norway Group. "It can really make a difference in understanding how women feel about taking their medication. There is very little known about these themes, and there is an urgent need to improve women’s health in pregnancy in order to ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy outcome" she added.

The survey consists of a series of short questions and participants will remain anonymous. The survey is available in English, Spanish or French
